A typical example of the 4th stage of Okinawan tomb development, namely rock cut tomb (=artificial cave burial) with facade. Originally the tomb, for the acting governors of northern area of Ryūkyū Kingdom, was built close to their office = Nakijin-jō fortress after the collapse of its ceiling. This was reconstructed close to the 2.5 stage example “Mumujana-baka” in 1761.
