Ancient Village in Coconino County, Arizona. More than 250 single story Sinagua Cliff dwellings are tucked into the south facing ledges of Walnut Canyon. Because of their protected location, they are some of the best preserved pre-contact structures in the U.S. They were built and occupied between 1100 AD and 1250 AD.

In addition to the cliff dwellings, petroglyphs can be seen.
The Sinagua homes remained undisturbed until the 1880's railway brought souvenir hunters who looted artifacts destroying walls to gain access. The site was declared a National Monument and so protected in 1915. Now Walnut Canyon National Monument is part of the National Park Service. A small museum on site provides information on the natural history and archaeology of the canyon. Two trails allow visitors to view many of the ruins: The Island Trail, which drops below the canyon rim, and the Rim Trail which is roughly level and runs along the canyon rim.
The Location given is for the visitor's center and museum.
