The "Stone with full equipment" is a participatory sculpture in the city centre of Dortmund. It consists of a large artificial rock, which is connected to a mast with a wind turbine and solar panels. The electricity generated will be provided to passers-by free of charge. Therefore, the stone exhibits plug sockets. An integrated router offers open WLAN.
The stone was developed by the artist duos Stian Ådlandsvik and Lutz-Rainer Müller as well as Mark Pepper and Thomas Woll at the invitation of the Dortmunder Kunstverein. The sculpture was built between 2012 and 2014.
The Stein mit Vollausstattung contributes to the current discussion about renewable energy and questions relating to the free use of the internet for anyone.
The stone was nominated for the N.I.C.E. award in 2014.
