Gąszczyk hillfort is located about 10 km east from Częstochowa. The archaeological excavations unearthed remains of a settlement from Hallstatt period (Early Iron Age), on place of which early medieval Slavic tribes constructed a new hillfort. Embankment and ditch are still distinguishable. The hillfort covers area of 0.5 ha.
