Sommarøy
Sommarøy submitted by kenntha88 : This elongated U-shaped depression is a very well preserved long house site. It is about 12 metres in length. (Vote or comment on this photo)
This site has been partly ruined by the building of a nearby football field, and a caravan camping area.

The site consists of three medium sized burial mounds, about 10-12 metres across, but very low because of ploughing, about 0.5m tall, one is about 1m high.

There is also a perfectly preserved boat house site, about 13 metres in length, the mark and depression and wall "hills" are very easy to see.

There is also one more house site, a construction about 10 metres in length and 3 metres across.

Most of the sites are very easy to see because of the low vegetation. It is only grass cut short because of the camping area.

It is a beautifully view over the sea and a lot of small rocky islands, but the weather can be cold so far out to the sea.
