A rare example of keyhole (scallop) shaped tumulus in Yamanashi Prefecture on a hill top overlooking the Kōfu basin.
The ceiling of its chamber is gable shaped and vermillioned inside like Hayashiguro Kofun no.1 in Nagano prefecture. This is the only one tumulus outside Nagano prefecture which has a gable ceiling chamber. A territorial expansion of Hayashiguro tribe?
