Hillfort in Japan
Recently (1999) discovered "Kōgoishi" hillfort. The length 1.7km, 3 drain gates, some stone walls and fundamental stones for buildings.
The stones of this hill fort are small and irregular while the ones of other Kōgoishi hill forts are large and brick-shaped. Recently some corner stones installed in stone wall of Nakatsu-jō (中津城 33.60697N,131.18602E) castle are supposed to have been removed and transported from the original site, 5 km away.
