This site is a settlement containing 12 clear foundation marks from the iron age. The foundations are arranged in two slightly curved rows with the openings facing inwards to the middle of the site.
It is basically the same type of "ring" shaped settlement as at Værem Namdalen, Vollmoen Steigen and Åse Andøya. But the arrangements of the housings are not so neatly laid out like in many of the other settlement location where the housings are shaped in two more or less "perfect" semi-circles. This gives this settlement a more or less "messy" look when you compare it with other of the same type.
On top of the main structure remains, there are other foundation marks from an older age. This settlement has been in use for a very long time period, from the age of wondering (about 400AD) until the later iron age (about 1000AD).
The house foundations vary in size from about 12 metres to 6 metres in length and from 3 to 5 metres width. They do not rise much from the flat terrain as in many of the other settlement sites, so it was difficult to get good pictures, although the foundation marks are very easy to see as I walked on them.
Several smaller round burial mounds are located in and around the site. They are from 10 to 4 metres across and from 1 to 0,5 metres in height.
The remains of an ancient stone fence is clearly visible on the ground. It runs for about 20 metres in length, just to the south of the settlement. It is easy to feel under ground as you step on it.
In the site and around the outside of the settlement are a number of smaller round hills with remains of coal in the bottom, these are remains of ancient fireplaces, also called "cooking pits".
Just to the south-west of the site, about 10 metres from the closest foundation mark is the standing stone called "Lekamøya Spåa". It is 2.8 metres in height and about 20-30cm wide. It tilts a little to the south.
The site is in a beautiful place with low vegetation and some scattered leaf trees, some inside the site, and surrounded by forest.
