Barrow Cemetery in Norway

This site is a extensive barrow cemetery dated back to the iron age. Since it is close to the Smineset iron age settlement. It is believed to have been connected to the settlement.
It consists of 15 round barrow mounds. They vary in range from about 10 to 20 metres across and from 1-3 metres in height. Some of them are actually cairns overgrown with moss, grass and smaller bush vegetation. Some of them were impossible to find and to photograph. Most of them are inside a very tight fur tree forest.
Some private summer houses has been built on the tall cliff on the top of the hill looking down at the sea.
The largest round mound is about 100 metres west of the main cemetery, it is about 25 metres across and about 3 metres high.
From the site it is a beautiful view over the ocean. To the north and east the cliff has a very steep fall down to the ocean.
