Barrow Cemetery in Kent County, Michigan.
The Norton Mounds are one of the most northern sites associated with Hopewell culture and date back 2000 years. This burial center originally consisted of 30 mounds, some as large as 80 feet in diameter and 15 feet high. Today only 17 mounds remain, with fewer than 15 in anything the contour and condition found by European settlers.
The site is owned by Park Museum and it immediately south of Grand Rapids' large Millennium Park. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a National Historic Landmark.
