This stone of great antiquity sits near the southeastern corner of Redland Green, not far away from the entrance to the church. It is not known whether it is the last remains of a burial chamber, or some other marker stone, but it is known tht it is older than of Roman date.

I for one remember it as a useful resting place on my way home after drinking sessions in my student days,and it never crossed my mind that it was a sarsen stone.There were reputedly at least two stone circles in this area but this is all that remains.There is however a large similar stone at the Canowie Road end of ...
