Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Gloucestershire

This is a medieval cross on top of this probably more ancient spring. Little is known of the properties of its water.

Cross Well (Condicote) submitted by rogerkread : The site of the well. A passing local remarked that the 'slot' was where the village pump was, removed relatively recently. The actual well is presumably under the stone with the ring on it. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Sadly, the cross is no longer at this site as of our visit 6th Oct 2018. Only the base remains.

Cross was damaged by large truck in 2018 and was taken down for repairs. It is now back on its plinth (2020).
