Holsneset boat house
Holsneset boat house submitted by kenntha88 : This is the top of the boat house. The small hills running down to the shore marks the earth walls of this ancient structure. (Vote or comment on this photo)
The U-formed depression in the ground with the small "hills" running across it`s length is the remains of the largest boat house from the Iron age/viking age in Norway.

The length is about 45 meters, and could have contained a longship twize the size of the Gokstad ship in the Oslo viking ship museum, and is very close to the Holsøya Island burial field and the settlement at Borg.
