Natural Stone in Latvia

Although the nearby fields are rich in boulders, these two ones have attracted a special attention due to the peculiar flat surface of one of them. Legends about these two stones all involve the Devil, hence their name. To be noted that the two boulders are traditionally referred to as one.

Very scenic spot, in front of a small lake.

Accessible by A6 / E22. Follow the signpost pointing towards the SW of the highway (see photo in the series). After 400 m on a very decent earth road, you reach a right angle bend towards the left in front of a house. There, you'll have to leave your car ; a signpost leads you towards the right for a 300 m walk along a tree lined path.

Visible on Google Maps or similar -- once you know where to look and what to, that is.

Pastmuižas Velnakmens
Pastmuižas Velnakmens submitted by Alta-Falisa : A new signpost has been recently (2013 or so) added along the highway A6, where the car stands. The photo shows the beginning of the (very decent) earth road. After a 400 m drive, the rest is to be done foot (see description of the site). Photo : June 2014.
