Mount Ephraim Barrows
Mount Ephraim Barrows submitted by Maeg : The barrow cemetery of Mount Ephraim plantation, Weeting, is best seen during winter months when the undergrowth has died back and the leaves fallen. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Situated alongside the footpath from Weeting where it meets the recreated Pilgrims Way, this is the best preserved of a number of barrows situated along an East-West ridge, forming a barrow cemetery.

The ridge line was developed into 'Mount Ephraim Plantation' during the 18th century, today the barrows are set back from the path and surrounded by holly and beech. A mediaeval wayside cross is located a short distance to the west.

The site falls under Norfolk Historic Environment Record number NHER 63629 and is shown as a tumulus on OS maps.
