Monolithic irregular Latin cross of unknown age. The most probably a medieval propitiatory stone cross is almost 150 cm tall and has the carving of a cross or a sword perhaps on one side and the strange shape of the square with lines (some say a symbol of crossbow) on the other. To its current location near the church of St. Jacob the Bigger on the Ostrov town cemetery was moved in 1976 from the original location near the village of Nejda.
An interesting story about the swedish army captain from the time of Thirty Years' War who was buried under the cross with all his weaponry is related to this cross. In the midnight you can still hear his watches ticktick...
