Coddu Vecchiu Tomba di Giganti | Chambered Tomb | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 23rd Jul 2025 | 4 | 4 | 4 | Our first stop after the airport. (priorities, you know!) The nicest Giant's Tomb we would see this week. | 22 | 1 |
La Prisciona Nuraghe | Broch or Nuraghe | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 23rd Jul 2025 | 4 | 4 | 5 | On our way to our hotel we had to make a little detour. The boardwalks detract a bit from the ambience, but the raised platforms are nice for pictures | 22 | 2 |
Su Monte 'e S'Abe Tomba di Giganti | Chambered Tomb | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 23rd Jul 2025 | 3 | 4 | 4 | Bit of a longer walk in the summer heat after just getting off the plane from cooler climes, but very worth the visit. | 22 | 3 |
Villaggio nuragico di Sos Muros (Orosei) | Ancient Village or Settlement | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 25th Jul 2025 | 2 | 2 | 3 | A very untidy entrance area, with lots of junk lying around, and a sad looking dog tied up at the beginning of the path. There are hints of structures all around, but very overgrown and difficult to interpret. | 22 | 4 |
Sos Moios Domus de Janas | Rock Cut Tomb | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 25th Jul 2025 | 4 | 4 | 5 | After much frustration of finding most of the sites I wanted to visit were behind fences or locked gates, it was a pleasant surprise to find a site that could be visited, but with a paved path leading to it! | 22 | 5 |
S'Ena Tunda Tomba di Giganti | Chambered Tomb | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 25th Jul 2025 | 4 | 5 | 4 | Another easily accessible site. A wonderful location. | 22 | 6 |
Conca Umosa Nuraghe | Broch or Nuraghe | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 25th Jul 2025 | 1 | 4 | 2 | Rough going to reach this site. After much wandering and scrambling around the rocks I found the faded sign from the local archaeology unit among rocks that themselves seem nothing special. It turns out I was only about 50 meters below the actual base of the nuraghe. | 22 | 7 |
Nuraghe Mannu (Dorgali) | Broch or Nuraghe | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Saw from a distance | 27th Jul 2025 | 4 | 4 | 3 | We had no idea that this site charged a fee and would have opening hours, so we arrived at 8:00 pm to find we had missed it. It is possible to drive to the ticket gate to drop people off and save 500m of walking, but the nearest parking is 800m back up the road. | 22 | 8 |
Nuragheddu Nuralgic village | Ancient Village or Settlement | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 27th Jul 2025 | 2 | 4 | 3 | A steep scramble along a reasonable trail. I with I had more time to explore there, as I discovered later that there was much more to see higher up, but we wanted to visit the nearby nuraghe as well - not realizing it had already closed for the night. | 22 | 8 |
Santa Lucia Nuraghe | Broch or Nuraghe | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 29th Jul 2025 | 2 | 3 | 3 | Park at the church above the nuraghe. The climb up from the bottom is difficult and would go through private property. | 22 | 9 |
Cutinas Tomba dei Giganti | Chambered Tomb | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 29th Jul 2025 | 2 | 4 | 5 | An environment reminiscent of Oregon's high desert. A little site in the midst of a large area of open range. Make sure you close the gates behind you! | 22 | 10 |
Oddoene Domus de Janas | Rock Cut Tomb | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 29th Jul 2025 | 5 | 4 | 4 | Not marked on any of my maps or referenced on any websites, I just happened to see the familiar looking information sign at the side of the road. What a find! | 22 | 11 |
Su Itichinzu Tomba di Giganti | Chambered Tomb | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 29th Jul 2025 | 3 | 3 | 4 | There is an obvious path leading from the road to the site through a wonky gate made of twine and an old pallet. I was not surprised to find the circular structure nearby, but now I can't find where I would have heard that it was there. | 22 | 12 |
Su Picante Tomba di Giganti | Chambered Tomb | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 29th Jul 2025 | 3 | 4 | 4 | Nice location wth a dedicated parking area. It would have been nice to have an information board with a picture of what it looked like while still under its mound. | 22 | 13 |
Romanzesu Villaggio Santuario | Ancient Village or Settlement | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 30th Jul 2025 | 3 | 4 | 5 | Recommended by some German ladies I met at Su Picante, so we checked it out on our way back to the airport. Nice, but probably much better with one of the guided tours. | 22 | 16 |
Loelle Nuraghe | Broch or Nuraghe | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 30th Jul 2025 | 3 | 4 | 5 | Nice medium sized nuraghe with interior stairs that allow access to two upper levels. | 22 | 17 |
Tomba dei Giganti Loelle I | Chambered Tomb | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 30th Jul 2025 | 2 | 1 | 5 | Not much to see, unfortunately the best view has the public works building right behind it. | 22 | 18 |
Tomba dei Giganti Loelle 2 | Chambered Tomb | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 30th Jul 2025 | 2 | 3 | 4 | Easy enough to find, but both tombs are a bit of a let down after the nice nuraghe. | 22 | 19 |
Loelle Stonerow | Stone Row / Alignment | Italy | Sardinia (Sardegna) | Visited | 30th Jul 2025 | 4 | 2 | 4 | The wooden columns totally obscure the fact that this is even a stone row. Now they look more like stones that were simply used as parking bollards. | 22 | 20 |
