Difficult to know where to start !. Visit Gorafe absolutely- the landscape is phenomenal, the collection of dolmens unique. if you can get the leaflet from the visitor centre (now open at 12 And 5 (not 12-5) you can do planned walks although only about 40 are visible - each one numbered on the ground. Once you are in the right place ( put penas de cabreras in google maps) you can park near a path and head up the hill. You find the shelters eventually.
The obvious ones are on wikipedia etc - the ‘ leaf’ or centipede, the comb, the figures but there are about 30 plus shelters.

Quality of the paeliolithic to Neolithic rock art takes the breath away - from figurative to abstract ( or seemingly abstract) images. Some black lined combs which look like some form of counting. Tour is 10 e three times a day - ring ahead to book but we only had 10 in February. its better to experience the images when you get there but have posted postcard pics nonetheless. | 21 | 5 |
