Wilmots Pool Cairn submitted by TheCaptain on 17th Nov 2017. A large 22m diameter Bronze Age barrow beside Wilmot's Pool, below Black Hill, a high point of the Quantock Hills ridge.
By this time we were cold and soaking wet, so were cutting our ridgetop walk short!

Log Text: A walk round Lansdown battlefields and around the racecourse, making sure to check out the hillfort defences this time, which are more substantial than I remember. Lovely views to south and west, overlooking the Avon valley and watch the birds.

Doulting Quarries barrow submitted by TheCaptain on 20th Mar 2023. In some open land behind the bus stop at Doulting, opposite to the stone quarries entrance, I saw what looked like a longbarrow with stone entrance. Closer inspection showed this to be a modern interpretation, with a large stone standing on the top.

Log Text: Several round barrows can be clearly seen from the roman road in an open field along the ridgetop, with several more to be found in Beacon Hill Woods. I didn't have time to park and go and have a proper look.
