The southern of two sets of defensive earthworks across Scotland's most southerly point, the Mull Of Galloway.

Log Text: Only about 300-400m long, but about 600-900mm high in places. Parts appear to be totally built of soil, but in other rounded boulders are clearly visible. Clearly marked on 1:50000 OS map. Though much lower, it is reminiscent of the better parts of Offa's Dyke.

Standing Stone of Bagbie submitted by vicky on 29th Oct 2002. This single standing stone sits in a field at NX498562 but to the south of, and part of, a complex containing a cairn, four poster stone circle and stone pair.
The Standing Stone of Bagbie is blade-like (as many of the standing stones in this area are) and has no formal access although it can be seen from the lane that runs from the A75(T) in a NE direction in to the hills towards Cambret.

One of many monuments called ‘White Cairn’ in this area and not to be confused with another White Cairn located only 1.2km to the NW! This particular example is listed as a must see site in the areas Archaeosights leaflet. It can be found in the forest east of Glentrool Village at NX 35257838. Bladnoch Standing Stone submitted by PaulM on 29th Oct 2002. This standing stone is marked on the OS Explorer Map 311 (Wigtown, Whithorn & The Machars) and can be found in the drystone wall flanking the A714 and directly opposite the house called Ashleigh in Bladnoch. The whisky distillery is only a short stagger away.
