Inveryne Stone Row
Inveryne Stone Row submitted by postman : 28th April, spring takes its time getting up here. (Vote or comment on this photo)
A Row of Three Stones in Argyll

The southwestern stone is 0.94m high, middle stone is 0.8m high and northeastern stone is 0.74m high. Despite the trees the sea is visible beyond the stones. For more information see Canmore site no. 39914.

The Journal of Antiquities also includes an entry for the Inveryne Standing Stones, Argyll And Bute, Western Isles, Scotland, which gives directions for finding these stones; the JoA describes the shortest route but says there are other footpaths, although these are described as being 'a long arduous walk. The standing stones are approx. 800 metres south-west of the farm, just to the north of Tigna Cladaich house and 200m from the shoreline of Auchalick Bay. There are a number of cup and ring marked rocks in the woods nearby.

Update October 2019: This alignment is featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for Inveryne, which includes a description, a plan of the row from a survey carried out in August 2017, photographs of the alignment, access information and links to other online resources for more information.

The SRoGB also notes that: "The row has a clear, but restricted view (even without trees) of Loch Fyne. Loch Fyne may have been the visual focus of this row as views inland are very limited".
