King's Quoit, Manorbier

King's Quoit, Manorbier submitted by sem on 25th Aug 2004. Looking SW,the view here is outstanding. This must have been a very sought after plot of Neolithic real-estate.It is set in a hollow on the cliffside lined with stones bigger than any but the capstone.Children & Nash suggest "no covering mound would have existed because the ledge.....is far too narrow." Kilmichael Glassary 1 submitted by hamish on 31st Jul 2005. What a great sight this is on the edge of a housing estate. For all the modernity around it is still enthralling to be here so much to see. Try counting them.

Log Text: This is a great small dolmen. The field was covered in ferns when i visited and only the capstone showed about the greenery. The site had a wonderful view of the gulf. This is on the tourist maps but few stop because it is small. it has great ambiance and is worth the time.

Kerloas menhir

Kerloas menhir submitted by thecaptain on 23rd Jun 2006. This is the biggest standing menhir in Europe, if not the world, at nearly 10 metres tall, and has lost the top 2 metres after a lightning strike! The stone, which is not local and has been brought to this hilltop site from more than 2.5 kilometres away, has been beautifully shaped, and tapers both into the ground, and up to a point.

Kerlescan Alignements

Kerlescan Alignements submitted by thecaptain on 18th Oct 2004. Kerlescan Alignements, northeast of Carnac, Brittany. This picture was taken looking east in 1987, when wandering amongst the stones was OK. I think many of them have been fenced off to try and combat erosion these days. I must go back sometime.

Kerbourg Dolmen 1

Kerbourg Dolmen 1 submitted by AlexHunger on 3rd Jun 2005. Very pretty 7 Meters long, 3 Meters wide downward slopping Allee Couverte, pointing South East. It has 4 large capstones. The rear appears to have a medium size chamber, while the rest appears to be the passage leading to it. It probably once had a tumulus. Saint-Lyphard.
