Fleurons Macedonian Tomb
Date Added: 31st Aug 2018
Site Type: Chambered Tomb
Country: Greece (Northern Greece)
Visited: Would like to visit

Fleurons Macedonian Tomb submitted by bat400 on 2nd Jul 2017. The front face the tomb. Unlike the larger Krisis Tomb nearby, the Fleurons Tomb is free standing in the front and its roof structure was intact enough for this reconstruction. You can stand and view the tomb from directly in front of the entrance, and see through the antechamber and into the main chamber from that vantage point. You are not allowed to enter past the front.

Fontaine St Michel submitted by TheCaptain on 12th Jun 2011. Round the back of the massive tumulus there is a nice well with a little well house and offerings area above a clear pool of water slowly bubbling up from the ground.
I have no doubt that this spring has been here for thousands of years and indeed quenched the thirst of the men building the tumulus.

Fourknocks submitted by kenwilliams on 19th Oct 2005. An extremely wide lens fits in just about the entire chamber, taken from the short passageway. Note the carvings on the free standing stone to the right.
The light is natural light from the ingeniously placed holes in the modern roofing.

Fremont Indian State Park
Date Added: 29th Aug 2015
Site Type: Museum
Country: United States (The West)
Visited: Would like to visit

Fremont Indian State Park submitted by Alta-Falisa on 30th Jul 2015. FREMONT PETROGLPHS Petroglyphs (etching in rocks) created, it is believed, by the Fremont people which lived in the area approximately from AD 600 - 1300. The Fremont people were contemporaries of the Ancestral Puebloans (Anasazi) of the Four Corners area. This is one panel of some of the many petroglyphs in the Captitol Reef Utah area. Though this panel is very high up on the rock face it is easily visible. Wish I could show it to you in the full 6000 pixels as it is so interesting.

The Gallarus Oratory submitted by swatson on 22nd Jul 2004. History Gallery
The enigmatic Gallarus Oratory on the Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry, Ireland. The date of it's construction is a matter for debate: some scholars put it around 600AD and others as late as 1200AD. Not pre-historic, but interesting.

Site Type: Wedge Tomb
Country: Ireland (Republic of) (Co. Kerry)
Visited: Would like to visit
Giant's Table submitted by EdwardTheHead on 6th Apr 2007. Wedge tomb near Ventry Co Kerry. Tomb seems to lie in a north south line as the bay in the background is to the south. To get here you will most likely have to ask a local as I did both times I was here. This is on private land, and usually has sheep around.
