Craig Rhosyfelin

Site Type: Rock Outcrop
Country: Wales (Pembrokeshire)
Visited: Yes on 27th Feb 2011

Craig Rhosyfelin submitted by PAB on 27th Feb 2011. Runemage commented that a map might be useful to help people understand what the 'new' discovery means, so I popped up there at lunchtime to try and get a picture to show the connections.

Cors y Gedol

Site Type: Chambered Tomb
Country: Wales (Gwynedd)
Visited: Yes on 7th Mar 2009

Cors y Gedol submitted by pab on 7th Mar 2009. The capstone looks fairly slender from the path - this picture shows it is not exactly small though! COFLEIN gives the dimensions as "c.3.6m by 3.0m & 0.45m thick".
COFLEIN also has an aerial photo of the site, which nicely shows the extent of the original cairn.

Visited: Yes on 11th Apr 2007

Coed Ynys Faen submitted by pab on 11th Apr 2007. Coed Ynys-faen, Stone 2, with track above.
After a very difficult clamber through the bracken and brambles on the steep hillside above the road, this stone was visible roughly in the position next to the track on the RCAHMW map for Stone 2. It was obvious that constructing the track above it had caused so much material to be displaced that it was almost completely covered.
