Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: England (Northumberland)
Visited: Yes on 8th Apr 2005. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 4 Access 3

Duddo Five Stones submitted by kelpie on 16th May 2004. Stone circle in Northumberland at NT931437. There was no obvious path to the stones apart from through the crops so I took the shot from a distance. Burl believes that few if any of these stones are in their original positions but have probalby been re-erected through the years.

Log Text: The dun itself is not very recognisable until you're on top of it. There's a small stone shelter in the trees behind it (using stones robbed from the site?). Igneous dykes cut through the promontory offering a form of natural barrier defence to the north.
Fantastic views out into Torrin bay and the loch.

Site Type: Broch or Nuraghe
Country: Scotland (Isle of Harris)
Visited: Yes on 13th Sep 2015. My rating: Condition 2 Ambience 3 Access 3
Log Text: Walked up from the curve in the road, the way was quite boggy. Didn't stay more than five minutes as it was very rainy and windy, so bad that there was a threat of being blown off the top!
Hard to discern much in the way of structure in the ruins, though there did appear to be a small semi-circular arrangement of stones nearby to the main ruin pile on the top of the hillock.

Date Added: 26th Feb 2012
Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Scotland (Aberdeenshire)
Visited: Yes on 1st Jan 2010. My rating: Condition 2 Ambience 3 Access 3

Forvie 'Stone Circle' submitted by golux on 23rd May 2010. When I visited the given location all I found was this marker confirming I was indeed at the exact spot - but there was no stone circle to be seen. Could it be that the alleged stone circle is actually one of the hut circles or cairns listed on this site?
This whole area is closed from April to August to protect the birdlife so I guess I will have to have another look in wintertime.
