Log Text: When visiting an island for perhaps the only time, it is important to research all the available sites and prioritise the best sites to visit in a limited time. Cladh Hallan Settlement is easy to access with good info boards. The central round house is the best preserved.

Log Text: I was intending to visit Glenhapple Cairn but was prevented by a no admission sign. I stumbled onto Clachaneasy Bridge Cairn by accident on my GPS. The cairn is located in dense forestry N of Clachaneasy Bridge. It is probably not worth visiting unless you are some kind of cairn completist.

Log Text: Clachan Cean Ile Standing Stone is hidden a fairy dell c. 20 yards W of a minor dead-end road beside Loch a' Chnuic. The location of the stone gives it a mysterious air. Details of how to find the stone are on the main page.

Log Text: I have an unfortunate tendacy to visit sites off the beaten track. I always regret it when squelching through bogs but I never learn my lesson. The unspectacular Clach Stein (Lower Bayble) recumbent stone was an example of this behaviour. You have been warned!

Log Text: When I visited Clach Stei Lin Stone Circle I was not aware of Canmore's classification of the site. I assumed it was a single standing stone and viewed it accordingly. If you visit be sure to make a careful search of stones to the S of the standing stone.

Log Text: There is a passing place at NN 8952 3051 on the A822 to park up carefully. There is a gateway E of the passing place into a rough field. Clach Ossian is c. 90 yards N of the gate.

Log Text: It is possible to park up at NG 5947 2006 on the B8083. Walk c. 130 yards W to a junction with Kilbride House Private Road. Walk c. 130 yards down the private road to Kilbride House. There is a gateway on the right leading into a field. Walk W into the field for c. 50 yards then NW for 50 yards towards the standing stone near two trees.

Log Text: I visited North Uist on a Calmac Hopscotch trip to the Inner Hebrides. My itinerary was as follows: Oban to Barra (ferry), Barra to Eriskay (ferry), Eriskay to South Uist (causeway), South Uist to Benbecula (causeway), Benbecula to North Uist (causeway), North Uist to Berneray (causeway), Berneray to Harris (ferry), Harris to Lewis (road), Lewis to Ullapool (ferry). I would recommend this route to anyone wishing to explore the Inner Hebrides by car.
It is easy to find Clach an t-Sagairt once you are on North Uist. Clachan Sands is on the B893, c. 3.2 miles S of the Berneray Causeway between North Uist & Berneray Take the signed Clachan Sands Cemetary turn. After c. 130 yards it is possible to park up carefully at the entrance to Clachan Lodge. Walk 100 yards NW along the road then head N through machair grass for c. 60 yards to reach Clach an t-Sagairt Inscribed Stone.

Log Text: Clach a' Charra Standing Stone is erected in a stone refuge on the S side of the A949 c. 200 yards W of the junction with Ospisdale House Drive. It is difficult to park up safely close to the stone.

Log Text: Chun Quoit is my favourite dolmen in Cornwall due to its almost perfect location on elevated moorland with panoramic views. My walking route started in the car park off the B3318 at SW 3934 3336. The path heads E then N for c. 1 mile to Chun Quoit. My route is viewable on Chun Quoit & Castle.

Log Text: If you are visiting Chun Quoit (if not why not) it is a no brainer to take the path heading E for c. 330 yards to Chun Castle. The circular wall of the fort is impressive but the interior is somewhat disappointing.

Chapel Finian Well submitted by kelpie on 13th Jul 2004. The well is housed in the ruins of what was a small chapel probably erected by pilgrims to the nearby home of St. Ninian.
The well was dry on my visit and there was no sign that it had been any different for some time.

Chapel Carn Brea Cairns submitted by Bladup on 19th Nov 2013. Stones of the kerb cairn at SW 38372806. It is 5.5m in diameter and is about 1.5m high on the lower, west side and 0.5m high on the east. The interior is earth filled to within 0.2m of the top of the inner kerb, of which three upright slabs can be detected. Five stones of the outer kerb can be seen.

Log Text: Champ des Roches Stone Rows are also known as "Cimetière des druides" is located on the S edge of Pléslin, a village in Brittany. There is a car park at the end of "Rue des Mégalithes at 48.52984, -2.05905. Walk S for c. 100m then turn left into the "Alignement de mégalithes". According to the the information board there are 65 white quartz stones arranged in 5 lines. I enjoyed my stroll along this grove of trees with various boulders and standing stones dotted along it.

Log Text: The site of Chalybeate Well (Dalry) is easy to access via the Southern Upland Way. A moorland stream runs through NX6488792815. I used my GPS to search a grid around the given OSGR. There was no obvious well in the vicinity.
