Saint-Gonvarc'h menhir

Saint-Gonvarc'h menhir submitted by Martin_L on 31st Jan 2009. Menhir Saint-Gonvarc'h (Pierre der Saint Gonvarc'h, Menhir de St-Gonveld) is an impressive 6m tall and slender Menhir. Unfortunately it is situated in a field, so direct access is limited. But even the view from a distance is worth seeing (May 2001).

Menoignon menhir submitted by theCaptain on 5th May 2014. The menhir must be about 8 metres in height, of large girth at the bottom, slowly tapering up to a pointed top. The southeastern face of the menhir has been worked into an extremely flat surface, of triangular shape, something which clearly took a lot of time to produce.

Menhir du Guilligui submitted by theCaptain on 20th Jun 2012. About 60 metres to the east of the Guilliguy headland and dolmen, is a little menhir, about 1.5 metres in height. The well known burial chamber can be seen on the headland beside the cross.

Menhir de Kerhouézel submitted by thecaptain on 24th Jul 2009. One of the Léon giants, the Kerhouézel menhir is a fantastic monster menhir, just inland from Porspoder. It must be nearly seven metres high and is fantastically smoothed and shaped. My campervan, parked in the field entrance, is the only thing to give any feel for the size of this stone. Truly a King of Léon.

In contrast to its bulbous headed, thirsty neighbour, this fine chap has a face and is wearing a pointy hat, looking out over the sea.
