Log Text: Wedding Rock (not Rocks) Petroglyph Site is located on Ozette Beach on the first rocky headland south of Cape Alava in Olympic National Park in the far northwestern corner of the State of Washington in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. The site is superb as is its striking setting on the coast. There are more than 40 petroglyphs to be found at Wedding Rock, although not all are easily located. They are found on the large and small boulders forming a semi-circle around the base of the cliffs. Made by the inhabitants of Ozette Village at Cape Alava, one mile north of Wedding Rock. Most have been determined to be 300 to 500 years old, although some are of more recent origins, such as the petroglyph of a sailing ship from around 1800. They cover a wide variety of subjects.

There are two main building areas around a central, open plaza. It is estimated that the complex had about 90 rooms, although much of the structure has been washed away by flooding over the years.
The photo was taken from the canyon rim east of the site.
