Log Text: Adjacent to the modern-day graveyard in Louin is a very small but well-repaired and maintained gallo-romaine chamber tomb with a set of stairs providing access from the road (Route de la Nivardière). There is a metal gate but I've never seen it locked. It contains two reproduction sarcophagi, the originals having been taken to a museum. To be found on the grassy site above the tomb, accessed by another set of stairs, is what little remains of a Roman temple (just the outline of the foundations). This site will only take a few minutes to visit in its entirety.

Monpalais dolmen 4 submitted by thecaptain on 5th Sep 2009. A superb bit of restoration, this large Angevin like dolmen sits in an oval cairn, with faced walling around the outside.
