Broad Stone (Dorset) submitted by hamish on 17th Feb 2007. There used to be an AA box in the layby near here, not so easy to find now, go too fast you miss it. Quite a Stone in Stuckley's time but now laid flat. I had to do a bit of clearing rubbish off the Stone. It is sad to see it like this.

Broughdearg submitted by hamish on 15th Jul 2005. I followed Nick's advice and walked to the farm. Park by the track gate but expect some interest this is a fishing river,"poachers".
The farmer is a bit amused at any interest in "auld stanes" so be prepared to be patronised.

Site Type: Standing Stone (Menhir)
Country: England (Cornwall)
Visited: Yes on 23rd Nov 2004

Burras submitted by hamish on 23rd Nov 2004. I was standing by the gate of the farm when a tractor came along the road and turned into the gate, I opened the gate for the farmer and he then walked up to the Menhir with me. He told me it had been re-erected and set in concrete. He tentively introduced dowsing into the conversation and became quite animated ( for a Cornishman ) when I told him I was a fellow dowser.

Site Type: Standing Stones
Country: Wales (West Glamorgan)
Visited: Yes on 21st Aug 2005
Cae'r-hen-Eglwys submitted by hamish on 21st Aug 2005. I had a hard time looking for this, the os ref. is out. I wandered about a massive field looking in the wrong place, it should be SS875809. The access from the road is difficult with dumped rubbish and glass. Once you have trodden down the nettles and dock the stones are great.

Caer-Dyni submitted by hamish on 10th Nov 2004. I stopped off at Criccieth for a break after a trip round the peninsula and saw this marked on the map. What a lovely rather sad place hidden from direct view, perhaps that is why it has survived. This pic was my first sight of it.

Carn Brea Enclosure submitted by hamish on 7th Apr 2002. Carn Brea Near Redruth

Explorer 104
Go to Carnkie on the south side of Carn Brea and take a narrow and sometimes bumpy lane to the top, there is plenty of parking spots.Between the restaurant and the monument are some amazing rock formations.
These may be Neolithic or just wind and rain scoured but works of art just the same.
