Swallowhead Spring submitted by DavidCWoods on 15th Aug 2004. SU101681 Visited 13.08.04 Eventually found the spring site - it's marked on maps, and on the local notices, but not quite clear how you get there. There appeared to be two spring sites, decorated with offerings, but both were dry.

Falkner's Circle submitted by Thorgrim on 11th Mar 2004. Just one stone remains standing now. Where are the others? They are broken and scattered in the adjacent hedgerows. Don't you just love farmers - custodians of the land! The circle was described by Falkner in 1840 and a plan by W. Long shows that there were 12 stones in a circle of 37m circumference. So the damage has been done since then.
The circle is sign-posted from the road alongside the West Kennet Avenue and is just a quarter of a mile along the footpath that follows the field ...

Wansdyke submitted by Thorgrim on 9th Jun 2005. Section of the Wansdyke where it crosses the road between Fyfield and Alton Priors. Wansdyke stretches for 45 miles from Bristol to Marlborough and can be walked for much of the way. As it is still quite high, it is free from 4x4 off road vandalism and can be a much pleasanter walk than the unfortunate and much abused Ridgeway.

Stonehenge. submitted by dodomad on 30th Sep 2022. This Jōmon cooking pot was built at around the same time as Stonehenge. The Circles of Stone: Stonehenge and Prehistoric Japan exhibition is the first time the pot has gone on display outside Japan.

The Avenue submitted by TimPrevett on 10th Oct 2006. Looking NE along the last stretch of The Avenue. I've appended, albeit somewhat crudely, some lines to show the course of the outside of the parallel banks, and their *approximate* direction swinging off to the east. The tan line in the distance shows the line of some of the Cursus, which predates the Avenue considerably.

Windywaycross, possibly a re-used standing stone on Ippestones Edge at SK056492 at a place called Windywaycross, just off the road branching to Alton Towers, off the Leek-Ashbourne road. Approaching from the north, the stone is 8m off the RH side of the road.
