East Kennett longbarrow submitted by Thorgrim on 6th Mar 2004. No public access, but clearly visible from the byway that goes uphill to the south of East Kennet village. Unexcavated, the barrow is 105m long and 6m high.

Goldenbow Teufelsbackofen submitted by holger_rix on 18th Sep 2010. West of Goldenbow, north of Neu Ruthenbeck, the remains
of a Chambered Tomb.
The original chamber was build in NE-SW orientation.
Today intact is the the NE end of the chamber;
two orthostats of the long sides and a splitted capstone;
as well as the NW end with also two carrying stones.
Capstones size is 4m x 2,8m x 1m.
The original chamber most likely had three capstones and four
orthostats on the long sides, size apprx. 5m x 2m.

This photo of one of my favourite portal tombs was taken just after nightfall at around 7pm on the 13th February this year. The lightsource is a handheld torch, no other trickery! F5.6, 6 seconds.

Pèira Levada (La Glène) submitted by thecaptain on 22nd Mar 2006. High up on the windswept, sunbaked plateau north of Millau, this is one heck of a big dolmen which has sadly collapsed on one side.
The giant capstone must be 6 metres by 4 metres, sitting on two 4 metre long side slabs, the eastern of which has tipped inwards letting the capstone fall this side. Its backstone has broken, allowing this to happen.

Hambledon Hill hillfort submitted by JimChampion on 10th Jan 2005. December 2002. Looking towards the south at the impressive west-facing flank of Hambledon hill. The ramparts are clearly visible in this picture, and the grazing sheep give a sense of scale. The ramparts in the foreground drop away sharply - presumably as the result of a landslip.
