Seven Wells submitted by KiwiBetsy on 6th Dec 2004. Seven Wells is found in the delightful village of Bisley, built into the hillside below All Saint’s Church and graveyard.
A semicircle of five gothic arched recesses account for five wells with the water arising in the hillside being channelled into a shallow stone trough and then down into a subterranean gravel bottomed pool. Long Stone (Minchinhampton) submitted by TimPrevett on 30th Dec 2009. Sunset 26/12/09 - an unplanned visit to a number of sites in the area.
No maps - just a vague 1970s guidebook - took us a couple hours to locate this having gone from Minchinhampton via Hampton Fields to Tetbury to Avening missing the stone at first by a narrow margin.
Having resigned ourselves to a long barrow this stone was spotted with just a few minutes before the sun went below the horizon.
A very impressive 7 feet tall stone, and make sure to see the smaller stone bisecting the wall ...

Samson, South Hill submitted by Thorgrim on 2nd Jul 2003. The now uninhabited island of Samson contains dozens of entrance graves and cairns. This entrance grave is the finest and it overlooks the flats where stone walls are uncovered at low tide. The Scilly Islands were just one island in Roman times (with the exception of Agnes and Annet. The drowned land has often been seen as the Lost Land of Lyonesse.
