Trevorgans Cross submitted by enkidu41 on 16th Nov 2004. This cross is not sympathetically placed having regard to the nearness of the A30 but, of course, the road would have been considerably narrower a 100 years ago.

Site Type: Holy Well or Sacred Spring
Country: England (Cornwall)
Visited: Yes
St Mawnan's Well submitted by KiwiBetsy on 4th Sep 2006. St Mawnan’s Well is dedicated to St Mawnan, a Celtic saint.
From Mawnan village follow the signs for about 1 mile to the Mawnan Old Parish Church which is situated on the clifftop 4 miles southwest of Falmouth Bay. The church dates from the 13th century.
The well is on private land in the garden of The Rectory. A gate guards steep steps down to a sunken path leading to the well. St Mawnan’s Well is still blessed with fresh, clear water and the ambiance is magical. The well has bee...

Creeg Tol
Date Added: 22nd Oct 2010
Site Type: Rock Outcrop
Country: England (Cornwall)
Visited: Yes

Creeg Tol basin submitted by AngieLake on 22nd Mar 2004. This is the Creeg Tol basin (not the Giant's Footprints - they are on a big stone to the right of this).
It struck me that this would be a very suitable ceremonial site, standing here, using the basin to anoint some leader (possibly?), who may have stood on the natural platform just underneath it, (lower right in pic) in sight of Boscawen Un, (top centre) and - looking down upon the tiny Creeg Tol "circle". (Out of sight, below right).
The whole setting has a strange atmosphere. I almost won...

St Stephen's Well
Date Added: 16th Nov 2011
Site Type: Holy Well or Sacred Spring
Country: England (Cornwall)
Visited: Yes
St Stephen's Well submitted by KiwiBetsy on 15th Oct 2006. When we visited the water level in the interior of the wellhouse was not high enough to flow over the low part in the front. The old collegiate church in Launceston was consecrated by Bishop Bronescombe in 1259 and dedicated to St Stephen. The current St Stephen’s Church stands about half a mile to the east of the well. Very little seems to be known about the well but it does sit up a very pretty and peaceful lane.
