Créac'h Gallic

Site Type: Passage Grave
Country: France (Bretagne:Finistère (29))
Visited: Yes on 2nd Aug 2019. My rating: Condition 4 Ambience 3 Access 5
Créac'h Gallic submitted by TheCaptain on 17th Apr 2011. There are many large slabs around the outside, making a sort of wall, I could not make this out at all initially.
Seems it was once a large allée couverte with a peristalith surrounding its mound, some of which still survives.

Chun Quoit submitted by sem on 16th Jun 2005. The capstone and the horizon.
There is a theory that dolmens (or quoits as they are known in Cornwall) were not totally covered in earth but the capstones were left uncovered and were a copy of the horizon. I have manipulated the tones in this shot to show this, but no shapes have been altered.

Five cists arranged in an oval are visible from a field entrance west of Newport on the A487(T) in Pembrokeshire in SW Wales. Apparently the farmer does not mind considerate visitors entering the field to look.
May have been in use into the Bronze Age and covered by an oval mound.
