Log Text: A wonderful local museum in a grand old building. The prehistoric collection is informative and well laid out. The rest of the museum is eclectic and interesting.

Log Text: Lots of very interesting and important prehistoric artifacts, but it is very hard to find specific items due the the organization of the floors. They are laid out according to a curator's whim of what "theme" the artifact falls unter, rather than chronological. There were carved stone balls in at least two rooms (and I never found the one I was looking for), and hand axes in three different rooms.

It comes from Craiglemine, Glasserton, Wigtownshire near Whithorn, Dumfries and Galloway. Submitted with the kind consent of National Museums of Scotland. Exhibit X.IB 122. Dates from 900-100 AD.

From front to back these are: Boulder from Letham Grange, Angus; Slab reused in a burial cist from West Yardhouse (?); and a slab from Lamancha.

Tealing Souterrain submitted by Nick on 5th Nov 2002. Tealing is just north of Dundee on the A929. Turn into the village and follow the road round, and look for the signpost. The souterrain is down a track and over a stile in a field behind the doocot (16th century pigeon house). This site dates from approximately 100 AD, and is a well preserved example.
