Pointe de la Guérite menhir submitted by thecaptain on 7th Jun 2006. This is a relatively small menhir right above the cliffs of the magnificent Cote Sauvage of the Quiberon Peninsula.
It is probably linked with the nearby allée couverte

Site Type: Burial Chamber or Dolmen
Country: France (Bretagne:Morbihan (56))
Visited: Yes on 18th Jul 2020. My rating: Condition 2 Ambience 5 Access 3

Porz Guen dolmens submitted by thecaptain on 14th Jun 2006. Remains of two dolmens on the clifftop to the north of the Porz Guen beach on the Cote Sauvage of the Quiberon Peninsula.
The more inland is the most complete, with one capstone surviving on the entry couloir. The chamber would probably have been roofed with large corbelled capstones around it, many of which survive fallen neaby.

Log Text: At first I was wondering why so many people were on the path to visit the dolmen. As it turns out the beach was packed, but we were the only ones to hang around by the dolmens.

St-Pierre-Quiberon Alignement submitted by thecaptain on 12th Jun 2006. Out on the Quiberon Peninsula, near to the Kerbourgnec cromlech can be found a pleasant little park with the remains of these alignements in it.
The stones are of all shapes and sizes, up to 4 metres tall. There's a lovely curved "sharks fin" in front of me as I sat and wrote this, and a diamond to my right. These stones are wonderful, and its lovely to be able to just sit amongst them.

Log Text: The walk from the parking area to the menhirs was simply spectacular. A cool summer morning out of the hot sun, surrounded by ferns and mosses - It reminded me of my beloved Oregon. But Oregon does not have menhirs!

Grand Breuil menhir submitted by theCaptain on 7th Jul 2011. The stone is about 3 metres tall, and in a little grassy area beside the road junction.

Log Text: For being so large and so close to the road, this menhir is quite hard to find. What was once a nice grassy area is now fully overgrown with brushy trees that stand taller than the stone. If you know it is there and were to look, you can catch glimpses of it through the greenery.
