Ormaig submitted by rockartuk on 18th Aug 2001. On the West slope of Creag Mhor (NM 8222 0267) you may find a magnificent series of over 200 carvings, many in 'mint' condition. They were recently (1973) uncovered. This is a detail of two of the three rosettes of different sizes. This realy cheers you up!

No maps - just a vague 1970s guidebook - took us a couple hours to locate this having gone from Minchinhampton via Hampton Fields to Tetbury to Avening missing the stone at first by a narrow margin. Having resigned ourselves to a long barrow this stone was spotted with just a few minutes before the sun went below the horizon. Foel Drygarn Hillfort, near Crymych, Pembrokeshire GR: SN15773360 This Late Bronze Age / Early Iron Age hillfort stands at the end of the Preseli range and is capped by three cairns which can be seen for miles around. Aerial photographs have revealed numerous hut circles on the summit.
