The chamber is deeply embedded into the sandy ground, but nevertheless quite impressive.
Beautifully situated at the edge of a small wood. (May 2009)

D22 Bronneger submitted by Martin_L on 12th May 2009. 5 orthostats and 2 large capstones are left of this passage grave. Possibly in situ. But the chamber is deeply hidden in the ground. Only the 2 capstones and one orthostat are visible nowadays. There is an enormous tree growing beside the tomb. All in all a very atmospheric site. (May 2009)
Remark: the lens hood was removed to get some lens flares.

Sacsayhuaman submitted by SolarMegalith on 15th Dec 2009. According to the tradition this pre-Colombian fortress located over Cuzco on altitude of 3701 meters over sea level was build by Inca Pachacutec.
During the siege of this fortress Juan Pizarro, one of the four Pizarro brothers, was killed (photo taken on July 2003).

Near Cuzco is at a site called Qenqo, which is a monstrous rock all carved out with tunnels inside, and the whole upper surface is a maze of sculpted surfaces. The stone is andesite. The "thing" in this photo creates a perfect Puma head shadow 2 times a year. Nobody knows its true purpose.
