The original socket stone supports a crude modern shaft to which the original head and arms have been attached by an iron band. The shaft bears traces of tare and feather working indicating that it was produced sometime after 1800. View from north east.

The larger of the two Bronze age stone circles is 23m in diameter with at least 21 surviving stones at pits suggest at least 3 more. There is a slight mound in the circle may cover a burial.

The smaller of the two Bronze age stone circles, This circle has only four stones remaining with possible slots four 4 more. An alignment of what was four stones (2 remain with two sockets) runs for about 30m to the south west from the circle.

Drizzlecombe menhir 1 submitted by SandyG on 28th Sep 2014. The stone row is overlooked by the Giant's Hill enclosed prehistoric settlement. It is this type of survival that makes Dartmoor such a special place. Plenty to ponder and inspire.
