Ringmoor Down Cairn 3
Date Added: 18th Jun 2015
Site Type: Cairn
Country: England (Devon)
Visited: Yes on 10th Mar 2015
Ringmoor Down Cairn 3 submitted by SandyG on 10th Mar 2015. Very few if any of the stones are earthfast and there is no visible trace of a mound. An absence of surface stone in the vicinity means that it is unlikely to be the work of recent visitors. Kerbs around some cairns seem to have been formed by placing stones on the original land surface and therefore the wobbly nature of these stones should not in itself detract from a prehistoric interpretation (5th April 2013).
