Boslow Cross submitted by JimChampion on 24th Oct 2007. August 2007. The southern side of the Boslow Cross, alongside a grassy path.

Log Text: Boslow Cross has the appearance of a dressed stone rather than a standing stone. I would err on the side of it being a parish boundary stone rather than a prehistoric stone.

Log Text: Bosporthennis Quoit is one of the more unusual quoits, sat on a small mound. There is a large open chamber on top of the mound. A capstone on the quoit has been carved into a millstone but left in situ.

Boswens Menhir

Boswens Menhir submitted by cazzyjane on 14th Nov 2010. Boswens Menhir. November 2010.

Log Text: I can never resist a standing stone on the horizon as I am driving. I will either investigate there and then or make a mental note to search for the stone later. In this case I was able to park up c. 500 yards NW of the stone at SW 3961 3310, adjacent to a track which led to Boswens Menhir. It is not a spectacular standing stone, however a 15 minute walk while driving is good exercise.

Log Text: Brane Entrance Grave is a much reduced tomb but the reconstructed remains have an attractive aspect. It could be described as compact and bijoux!

Boskednan A

Date Added: 30th May 2021
Site Type: Cairn Country: England (Cornwall)
Visited: Yes on 15th Oct 2013. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 5 Access 3

Boskednan A

Boskednan A submitted by AngieLake on 15th Oct 2004. This view of the 'destroyed barrow'/cairn near Carn Galva, shows its alignment with Ding Dong mine on the horizon. Boskednan circle is on slightly lower ground not far from here, and on an alignment between the 'barrow'/cairn and the mine building. The flat sides of the pointed stones face north/south. (This pic was taken at 4pm in March 2004). The stones sit on a higher ridge at 227m.

Log Text: Boskednan A Kerbed Cairn is easily visited on the way to Nine Maidens of Boskednan. There are intermittent kerb stones round the cairn up to 4 feet tall. As a starter before the Nine Stones of Boskednan it is very satisfying.

Boskenna Cross

Boskenna Cross

Boskenna Cross submitted by enkidu41 on 15th Nov 2004. The shot shows the principal face of the cross with its depiction of Christ. The three-part base is out of all proportion to the cross. The look of stability is deceptive given its three damaging brushed with modern traffic!

Log Text: I parked in the lay-by adjacent to Boskenna Cross for the path to Boscawen-Ros E.

Log Text: I honestly can't remember the details of approaching Goodaver Stone Circle but I retain an impression of boggy marshland and surprise to find a stone circle in such splendid isolation.

Log Text: King Arthur's Hall is unique in my experience. It is one of the most unusual monuments I have ever visited. Henges and pounds are normally round. The isolated location amplifies the special vibe exuded by this exceptional place.

Trehudreth Downs row

Trehudreth Downs row submitted by Bladup on 16th Jul 2015. Trehudreth Downs row. The western part of the stone row (SX125730).
(View photo, vote or add a comment)

Log Text: I spent a pleasant afternoon wandering Trehudreth Downs. I was successfully searching for cairns but also stumbled on this short stone row running WSW-ENE. The stones were low lying and difficult to locate in rough moorland. Upon consulting my GPS I noted that this was the W end of a long stone row. At the time I couldn't locate its remaining portion. The Stone Rows of Great Britain includes Trehudreth Down. Stone 19 (SX 12464 72955) and Stone 13 (SX 12499 72967) gives the full range of the stones I found.

Log Text: Walk 40 yards E towards a gorse bush from Trehudreth Downs West Cairn. There is a standing stone measuring c. 62 inches high, leaning c. 25° E. There are 2 similar stones lying E of the standing stone. They may be remnants of a stone row leading to Trehudreth Downs West Cairn.

Trehudreth Downs C

(View photo, vote or add a comment)

Log Text: I parked at the Temple/A30 Junction to visit Trehudtreth Downs via Greenbarrow Downs. There are multiple sites to visit in this area. Trehudreth Downs C Stone Setting is located c. 40 yards E of Trehudreth Downs W Cairn. The stone is obscured by a gorse bush as viewed from the cairn. The three stone appear to form a shallow arc. It is an intriguing site prompting more questions than answers.
