Log Text: Very short and easy climb from Tor House, and access is well marked. The two cairns are amazing; the westernmost was destroyed in WWII, but the eastern one is a must visit!

East Moor cairn submitted by TheCaptain on 5th Dec 2010. One or two of the surrounding stones are very large, and obviously much more than just a surrounding ring of kerb stones. At least one of these stones is thought to have once been an associated menhir, its length more than 2.5 metres, but now fallen.

The Ridge Cairn submitted by JimChampion on 27th Oct 2007. August 2007. The cairn is at the northern end of "The Ridge" - an aptly named hill on the edge of open moorland. The rubble has been cleared from the centre of the cairn to create a shelter for sheep out on the moor.

East Moor stone row submitted by TheCaptain on 25th May 2010. When visiting East Moor stone row on Sunday 23 May, I found the row easily without resorting to my new GPS.
While part way walking along the row, which I thought would be recorded as a part of my track, an idea came to me. My new toy could be used to record each stone as I found it by making a waypoint.
Now its just a case of figuring out what to do with all the data. Here is a first attempt to show the results by simply reading the data into Google Earth.

This is a truly lovely stone circle, situated on a flat saddle of land between Little Hound Tor and Hound Tor, miles away from any signs of modern life in the middle of the desolate moor, and there are views for miles around in almost all directions from the site. Roughtor long cairn submitted by theCaptain on 18th Oct 2014. Almost 500 metre long stone bank structure, 5 - 8 metres wide and with facing slabs lining its edges, on the northern slopes of Rough Tor. Originally thought to be a sort of boundary structure, an investigation by TimeTeam in 2007 showed it to be more of a cairn type feature.
