This spectacularly huge stone (9.8ft) has just one detracting feature - it was set in a concrete base in 1971! Permission is required to visit, and it was cheerfully given me.
On return of the photos, I couldn't help notice the little face near the bottom of the stone.

Parking in layby on the west side of the road opposite the footpath. The path was heavily rutted by cattle, indicating that if it was wet, this would be extremely boggy. Access is over a low point in the wall right next to the stones. Next time I visit I must read the guide books beforehand - two of the stones are actually set in the wall! Carnmenellis Giant's Cave submitted by Fungusman on 23rd Mar 2020. The Giant's Cave at Carnmenellis was tricky to find as it was very over grow when i visted. A big granite slab with a big chamber dug out beneath it.
