Log Text: I remember that the main chamber was actually dry in this visit - unlike my second visit! However, there was still a lot of water at the far end of the passage.

Log Text: A nice natural spring with "clouties" but someone's plonked a nasty metal gate on top. Normally visited at the same time as Carn Euny settlement but can also be accessed from the road (Access: 4)

It's a flat-topped bowl barrow 22.0 metres in diameter, 1.3 metres high with a central mutilation, and it's yet another barrow around here near a mast, You can just see a cresent moon at the top left.

Log Text: Only room for one car outside the gate, plus a sign warning not to block access to the private gate right next door. Other than that, it's an easy and short walk through a field to the quoit.

Log Text: Really easy to spot as it's right in front of the church. Obviously, while you're here, visit the Treslothan Holy Well, about 20 metres up the road from the Cross. Shame about the gravel setting but...

Log Text: If you take the first road to the church from the Carwynnen Quoit towards Troon, the Well is just before you reach the monument outside the church. Great parking and very easy to spot. Obviously, visit the Treslothan Cross, outside the church, while you're here.

St Ia's Well: Described By C Thomas in 1962 as exiting the Reens Rocks (also known as St Meriasek's hiding place), opposite St Ia's Chapel remains. There is a natural hole still in the rocks, with a set of rock basins below, catching the water. probably dry due to water diversion from Troon. The stream from Troon runs to Pendarves lake.
