SW of Kilgarvan, Co. Kerry. Portal stones at NW. Accessible by foot after a 10-minute drive from Kilgarvan. Ask for directions at O'Suilleabhain's Pub in the village.
Note to visitors: if you find yourself in a farmyard with three ferocious dogs, you've gone too far. Go back down the hill and look for the metal gate on the right. The circle is on a small hill beyond the gate.

Log Text: Revisited to record GPS location and to take more photos. Site found easily this time with knowledge from a previous visit and ViewRanger OS map on my iPhone. After parking on the right near quarry entrance a short seven minuets walk took me to the site 80% cloud, heavy showers, 13 deg C. GPS reading 51.91099,-9.59337 at site. Both close up and setting photos were taken.

Log Text: Well signposted from the main road. Parking good with toilets on site too.
This restored fort is well worth a visit. You can enter the fort and even climb the walls using the several built in stairways.

Log Text: Interesting Chambered Tomb on the roadside. Appears to have worked markings on a number of surfaces with an interesting angled access passage connected to the now exposed main structure.

Log Text: The major Cairn structure covering is largely destroyed but well defined. The key orthostats that make up the central chambers are fairly well intact with some petroglyphs weathered but still quite visible. Others have been eroded away to a large extent but can still be viewed in good light. The Cairn is quite well aligned with the November and February cross quarters and it appears the alignment is designed to signify the last day in the November cross quarter and the first day of the February cross quarter before the departure or at at the arrival of light into the chamber. There is significant decoration in the right hand chamber that would be highly illuminated on these dates. Unlike Cairn L where this also occurs the loss of tunnel structure means that this effect is much less evident.

Log Text: A superb example of two back to back Court tombs with a central chamber between the two. Access is over a small style at the roadside. Very dry when I visited but the approach to the raised site will probably be very boggy in wet weather. It is possible to park a single car on the opposite side of the road but it would be difficult to pull out again safety due to almost no view of oncoming traffic. Better to park about 600 yards away near what looks like a haulage yard opposite to some houses.
