St Cedd's Well

St Cedd's Well submitted by kelpie on 21st Feb 2004. SE 7290 9047 St Cedd was granted land by Ethelwald and aided by his brother, Chad, built a monastery near Lastingham. This well bears his name and the stones for the housing are said to have come from Rosedale Abbey. Probably a christianised pagan well.
