Horneburg Langbett 4
Trip No.20 Entry No.32 Date Added: 2nd Nov 2018
Site Type: Long Barrow
Country: Germany (Lower Saxony, Bremen)
Visited: Yes on 2nd Jul 2018. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 4 Access 3

Horneburg Langbett 4 submitted by Martin_L on 27th Apr 2010. The chamber of the kerbed long-barrow viewed from above (pole aerial)
As usual the orthostats are slightly inclined towards the chamber, but due to erosion of the earthwork the eastern chamber endstones' inclination increased significantly. The capstones C2 and C3 are robbed otherwise the chamber is well preserved. Especially the western third of the chamber and the passage section are in very good condition. April 2010

Horneburg Langbett 3 submitted by Martin_L on 11th May 2010. View East along the remains of the approx. 50m x 6m kerbed and chambered long-barrow. The chamber is located just east of barrows' center and visible near the center of the picture. Only the eastern end-stone and the adjacent orthostat of the northern long-side are preserved in situ. Hence the original size of the chamber is unknown. According to the size of the pit resulting from destruction it may have had 2 or 3 capstones. To the right (South): one of the very few remaining kerbstones is vis...

Finelle Dolmen submitted by TheCaptain on 6th Nov 2007. A bit to the west along the track running along the southern edge of the airfield, and you soon come to another dolmen.
Its a fairly standard southern French dolmen, with two 4 metre long sideslabs and a backstone between them, topped with a capstone. There is some evidence of a front closing stone.

Dolmen du Pech (Cazals)
Trip No.21 Entry No.6 Date Added: 7th Nov 2018
Site Type: Burial Chamber or Dolmen
Country: France (Midi:Tarn-et-Garonne (82))
Visited: Yes on 28th Aug 2018. My rating: Condition 4 Ambience 4 Access 5

Dolmen du Pech (Cazals) submitted by thecaptain on 17th Jan 2006. Subject of an excavation in 1989, and reconstruction in 1992, this box tomb is now fenced in, presumably for protection, but it looks terribly ugly because of that.
The odd thing about this dolmen is the rectangular stone mound it is contained within, which has been subject to a perhaps over-enthusiastic reconstruction.

Le chaos de Roquebert submitted by TheCaptain on 18th Jan 2011. Les Trois Cromlechs.
I wasn't quite sure what to make of these. There are three massive stones (probably up to 7 metres high) within about 20 metres of each other looking for all the world like they have been stood upright surrounded by lots and lots of other stones.
