Log Text: Three tombs built on a rock outcrop. The earliest opened to north, the second and third to the east. Then it was all made into a large mound. With two tall portals at the east.
There are several quartz stones in and around the edge of the horn of the cairn, and the SW stone of the first chamber is a stone of solid quartz.
The site exuded power and kudos.
nice to see another site that supports the idea that cardinality was important

Barclodiad-y-Gawres (Anglesey) submitted by TimPrevett on 13th Apr 2004. A look at the dolmen, which is the top of the cruciform section, inside Barclodiad.
As with many dolmens, the capstone almost seems precariously placed.

Log Text: Enclosed encaged in a mock up like at Newgrange, which is very misleading.
It has guided tours inside at summer weekends you book online. I would rate the guide at 5/10.
The original tomb is quite small, has a similar sized cap on the main chamber as other local chambers. What makes Barclodiad different is its side chambers, and the decorated stones giving a distinct Irish style. No Bronze Age material was found so it seems to be not used later.
Oh, and the passage faces north. Haha.

Caer Bach submitted by TimPrevett on 22nd Aug 2004. A view down on to Caer Bach, showing its prominent place above the Conwy Valley.
This is taken ascending Tal y Fan mountain.
There is a conspicuously white stone just left of centre; this stone is very large, and of different character than the other stones.
In the valley below within the picture (but not visible) is the Roman port and fort of Canovium - an essential link in their North Wales strongholds.

A straight walk up the hill along a rough track after passing through two metal gates. Continue on up and the circle is on left hand side. You won't be disappointed.
