Taversoe Tuick submitted by enkidu41 on 6th May 2004. HY 426276 On Rousay this is a two-storied stalled cairn, one of only two known. The round cairn is about 30' in diameter. The lower chamber, reached by a 19' passage, is about 12' long x 5' wide x 5' high, and is divided into 4 cells by upright slabs. The upper chamber, whose floor is the celing of the lower chamber, is reached by an 11' long passage, and is divided into 2 compartments. Knowe of Yarso submitted by enkidu41 on 6th May 2004. HY 404281 On Rousay. A neolithic stalled cairn about 50' long x 25' wide entered by a 13' long passage at the eastern end. The chamber (which my have originally been two-storied) is divided into 4 compartments by 3 pairs of upright slabs.

Log Text: amazing views from the top-of Ireland, the Rhinns, Loch Ryan, Ailsa Craig, the hills inland, Arran and Kintyre. A visit to the Rhinns really emphasises that the water linked all these lands as one.
